From zero to 5 to 8 inbound leads a month: SEO and a new site for a B2B market-research firm

A niche B2B firm with real capability and no online presence went from invisible to ranking for 20+ queries and 5 to 8 qualified enquiries a month. What we rebuilt and why volume was never the goal.

From zero to 5 to 8 inbound leads a month: SEO and a new site for a B2B market-research firm

A hundred organic visitors a month sounds like nothing. For a niche B2B firm it turned into five to eight qualified enquiries a month, from zero. This is a case study in why B2B search is about intent, not volume.

Engagement: B2B market research · Search & AI Visibility, Web & App Development

    The numbers

    • →Search visibility: zero to ranking for more than 20 queries
    • →Inbound leads: zero to 5 to 8 qualified enquiries a month
    • →About 100 organic visitors a month

    The situation

The firm was genuinely good at field data collection and survey execution. Online it did not exist. The website did not explain the services, the use cases or what made the firm different, and it contributed nothing to acquisition. Every new client came from a referral or a cold call.

    What we did

Rebuilt the site around intent. In niche B2B, buyers do not browse. They search with a specific job in mind and they want to know within a minute whether you do it. We restructured the site into intent-driven service categories, one page per thing a client would search for.

Mapped the real queries. Not "market research", which is owned by global firms, but the specific, high-intent phrases clients use when they need field data collection or survey execution in a particular sector or region.

Fixed the technical foundation. Indexing, crawlability and on-page structure, so the pages that existed were actually eligible to rank.

Added enquiry flows. Clear next steps on every service page, so a visitor with intent had somewhere to go.

    What made it work

Accepting that the numbers would be small. A hundred visitors a month is not a traffic strategy; it is a lead strategy. Because every visitor arrived from a query with buying intent, the conversion rate from visit to enquiry is one most consumer sites would not believe.

The other factor is specificity. Ranking for 20 precise queries beat any chance of ranking for one generic one.

What we would tell a founder in the same spot

    • →In B2B, count enquiries, not visitors.
    • →Organise the site by the job the client needs done, not by your org chart.
    • →Give up the generic head term. It belongs to someone with a thousand pages.
    • →Every service page needs an enquiry path. A ranking without one is a wasted visit.

If your firm is good at the work and invisible online, the site is usually the problem. Search & AI Visibility is the service behind this engagement, and the full results are on the work page.

    FAQs

    How long did it take?+

The rebuild and technical fixes came first; the rankings and enquiries built over the following months as the pages were indexed.

Did you run any paid campaigns?+

No. This was search and the site only.

Would you recommend this for a services firm outside research?+

Yes. Consultancies, agencies, specialist manufacturers and professional services all sell to buyers who search with intent.
