4× more patients for a dental clinic with local search, not social media
A new dental clinic was getting one patient every three days. Local search ads within five kilometres, plus medical camps for trust, took patient volume up 4×. A local marketing case study.

A new dental clinic with good doctors and fair prices was averaging one new patient every three days. It was posting on social media, and social media was not producing appointments. Moving the budget to local search, where people are actively looking for a dentist, multiplied patient volume by four.
Engagement: Healthcare, dental · Performance Marketing, local search
The numbers
- →Patient volume up 4×
- →Targeting radius: five kilometres
- →Channel mix: Google Ads and Local Ads, plus on-the-ground medical camps
The situation
On a street crowded with clinics, almost nobody knew this one existed. The team was doing what most new clinics do, publishing social content and hoping it would translate into footfall. It did not, because nobody chooses a dentist from a feed. They choose one when a tooth hurts, and at that moment they search.
What we did
Shifted from broad to intent. Google Ads and Local Ads targeting people within five kilometres who were actively searching for dental care. The ads showed up at the exact moment of need, with the clinic's location and a way to call.
Built trust on the ground. Medical camps near local temples, so the clinic's name was familiar before the search happened and the doctors had been seen in person.
Stopped the content that was not working. Social output was cut back rather than expanded. The budget went to where the intent was.
What made it work
Timing and proximity. A dental search is one of the highest-intent queries there is, and the radius is small. Being the clinic that appears at that moment, within walking distance, did in weeks what months of content could not.
The camps mattered more than they look on paper. For healthcare, a face seen once in the neighbourhood turns an ad click into an appointment.
What we would tell a founder in the same spot
- →For a clinic, studio or shop, search intent beats social reach every time.
- →Set the radius to the distance a patient will actually travel, not the whole city.
- →Pair digital with something physical. Local trust is built in person.
- →Measure appointments, not likes.

FAQs
Was the Google Business Profile part of this?+
Local Ads run through it, so yes; a complete, verified profile is the base for everything local.
How quickly did volume change?+
Local search ads produce results within weeks because the demand already exists; the work is being present for it.
Would SEO replace the ads eventually?+
For a clinic, organic local rankings and the map pack are the long-term goal. Ads are the fastest way to be found while that builds.
